Belinda Dyar leaves a legacy of love. She was a committed daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was always present, always giving, and unwavering in her faith. She grew up in Tylertown, Mississippi, graduating high school from Walthall Academy and college from Southwest Mississippi Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi. She married Scott Dyar on August 16, 1986. She loved and treasured her husband, and they shared 36 years of joy, laughter, and devotion. She was a proud mother of her three children, Justin, Clayton, and Laura Lee. She welcomed their spouses into her family, and lived for her grandchildren. She was a dedicated member of Tylertown Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School, Children’s Choir, and sang in the adult choir. Belinda was a dancer to her core. She grew up dancing and was a proud alumni of the Dixie Darlings at USM. So much of her joy came from sharing her passion for dance with others, coaching teams at Southwest Mississippi Community College and Parklane Academy. She loved “her girls,” and she left an impact on each of them. One of her greatest passions was working at Parklane Academy as the Elementary Librarian. She passed down her love for books to every child, and she truly looked forward to reading to her students each day. She loved her family, her friends, her community, and her church, but most importantly, she loved the Lord. To know her was to love her.
She was preceded in death by her father, James E Mize.
Survivors include her husband, Scott Reed Dyar; sons, Justin Reed Dyar (Kaleigh) and Clayton James Dyar (Taylor); daughter, Laura Lee Dyar Wand (Curtis); mother, Iva Patten Mize; grandchildren, Hadlee Claire Wand, James Elliott Dyar, Jack Reed Dyar, John Walker Dyar and Ellis Brooke Dyar.
