Mu Alpha Theta is an honorary math organization. The Parklane chapter was chartered in 1982. To be considered for membership, a student must have obtained an overall average of 92 or above in Algebra I, Geometry, and first semester of either Algebra II or Pre-cal/Trig. Once becoming a member, each student is required to perform ten hours of tutoring each nine weeks and actively participate in recycling plastics, newspapers, aluminum, or other recyclable materials. Money from Mu Alpha Theta funds is used throughout the year to make donations to various causes. There are currently 36 members. The induction ceremony for this school year will be held in the Spring of 2015.
